Christian Bennefeld, who studied computer science and mathematics, has been actively involved in data protection for over 20 years. Before becoming self-employed, he worked in management positions for international software companies. In 2000, he founded etracker, a company for website analysis and online marketing optimization, which he developed into a leading European provider as managing partner until 2013. In 2014, he created a counter-model with eBlocker: an anti-tracking technology for digital self-defense, which is now available as open source for everyone. For many years, Christian has been working on artificial intelligence in the area of tension between data protection and the potential for abuse. He enjoys sharing his knowledge as a keynote speaker, in TV interviews and at specialist events.
