Nico Wägerle is Co-Founder and CEO of Certivity. He is responsible for Business Development, Sales, Cooperations, Finance & Investment, and HR & Legal. After studying in Constance and Cardiff, he joined Daimler Financial Services AG as a lawyer in the legal department, where he was responsible for IT services and outsourcing projects worth more than 100 million €. After a move to Daimler AG, Mr. Wägerle advised on data laws in vehicles and connectivity technologies. Through another internal move, he became part of an interdisciplinary agile organization to implement and execute agile legal advice of engineering departments with a special focus on product liability, road traffic law, homologation, data protection for automated vehicle technologies (L3 and Urban L4) and he held his first management position with 5 Team members as on of the youngest managers at Daimler. In 2019, Mr. Wägerle moved to Autonomous Intelligent Driving GmbH in Munich as Senior Legal Counsel & Head of Governmental Affairs. He was jointly responsible for providing legal advice on the merger of AID and Argo AI and the autonomous technology. In addition, he established the government affairs department with relationships to the German Federal Ministry of Transport and the European Commission and participated in industry associations (VDA & ACEA & Bitkom) concerning the legal design of AD laws e.g. latest L4 legislation in Germany and EU.
